Chef Michael Bennett has more than five print published books. His wife was told she had Cancer 2 years ago, and that day they started her on these new cookbook recipes. After a year, the doctors said the Cancer was dissolving unexpectedly. Michael Bennett, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to first generation Floridians, has spent most of his professional life in the food and hospitality industry. Michael began working for his family, who owned and operated restaurants on fashionable Las Olas Blvd. and Fort Lauderdale's first restaurant north of Sunrise Blvd. Michael's grandfather was the family's first restaurateur, operating these South Florida restaurants just after emigrating here from Ohio in the 1940s. This is where Michael acquired his bounteous creative work ethic. After OTT training with some of the most well-known chefs in South Florida, he went to the Culinary Institute of America to pursue his passion. After leaving the CIA, for most of the next decade, Michael's life revolved around intense periods of kitchen management. During this time, he sought out the most exotic and chic dining environments to apply his talents. After 2000, the 26-year culinary landmark in Fort Lauderdale-the Left Bank recruited Michael to be its Executive Chef. The restaurant saw critical acclaim under Michael's watch, earning rave reviews and accolades from the media and public alike. The restaurant received its first Four Star AAA award; Mobil award in 2002 and Wine Spectator's Grand Award of Excellence, also in 2003.In 2006, Michael exodus his family 1600 miles away to the Caribbean, repositioning himself in the West Indies to broaden his subsist vibe for the food he loves to cook. After four years of investigating the region's culinary attributes, he returned to his home in the tropical climes of South Florida to create an evolution in Gluten-free, healthy Caribbean food called "Medibbean" cuisine. He and his wife Vicki are working on a Cancer helping recipe cookbook that features his healthy-lifestyle recipes and cooking techniques with the Cancer-fighting elements he used to help cure his wife's Cancer. Nowadays in living in America's Caribbean, the Florida Keys, he now pursues a lifestyle of healthy living with his Cancer-free wife.
