Description
A kidnapped pregnant nurse. A crazed disgraced cop. Let the psychological warfare begin…
Nurse Amber Buckner is dealing with her husband’s ultimatum regarding her unplanned pregnancy. Unfortunately, her frantic state distracts her from recognizing something is wrong when approached by a uniformed police officer. She’s kidnapped and realizes her abductor is starved for love—and the affection he doesn’t receive willingly he takes by force.
To stay alive, Amber cleverly convinces her captor he is the father of the child she’s carrying. The maniac seesaws between love and hate for his captive. Matching wits with her abductor, she prays her husband, an LAPD cop, will grasp what’s happened and rescue her. What Amber doesn’t know is that her husband isn’t looking for her—no one is—the madman has seen to that.
Collateral Damage is the first book in Kathy Bennett’s, Buckner Police Procedural Thriller Trilogy. If you like authentic crime told in an arresting story, you can’t go wrong reading this fast-paced, riveting, drama told by an award-winning retired LAPD officer.

Hi there!I'm Kathy Bennett.¿A little about me-I worked for the LAPD for twenty-nine years. Eight years were spent as a civilian employee, and I served twenty-one years as a police officer. While most of my career was spent in a patrol car, I also worked at the police academy as a firearms instructor, promoted to the position of a field training officer, then worked in the "War Room" as a crime analyst. I promoted again, this time to the position of Senior Lead Officer-where I was in charge of a basic car area within a geographic division. I've done a few stints undercover and was honored to be named Officer of the Year in 1997. In my spare time, I started writing romance books. However, I wasn't really cut out to be a romance author-I'd forget to write the romance, but I was always killing off one or more characters in the book. After a few years, I realized I'd better write what I know: Authentic Crime... Arresting Stories. (Yeah, that catchy phrase is a part of my brand.) One of the books in my Deadly Thriller series, A Deadly Blessing, was chosen by Barnes and Noble as one of the best original Nook books of the year. I live in Idaho with my husband and soul mate, who is also a retired LAPD officer. We have two entertaining and energetic Labrador retrievers, and one cat who is always getting into something but she's loved just the same. I like to do Pilates, read, and spend time with our daughter and her family. Life doesn't get much better than the one I'm living.I'm always interested in my readers. Drop me a line and tell me a little about yourself. You can reach me at Kathy@KathyBennett.com and know that I do write back-and it's me-not an assistant.
