A substantial self-study section offers practice material for homework and revision, and for extension purposes.
Foundations Languages courses are tailor-made for undergraduates and other students on Institution-wide Languages Programmes (IWLPs), languages options and electives, ab initio and minor routes in languages, and open learning programmes at universities and in Adult Education. Foundations Italian 1 assumes no previous knowledge.
Reviews / Votes
'I particularly like this course book because it is specifically designed for a broad variety of learners, both specialists and non-specialists. Both the teaching/learning approach and the didactic activities are very communicative and student-centred and there is a good balance of activities aimed at practising and strengthening all of the four language skills required by the CEFR. This third edition has improved the Use of Language section with more structured consolidation activities. As a result, learners enjoy the activities in class and at the same time have room for self-study and improvement in a clearer and more structure-focused way.' - Giulio Giusti, Sheffield Hallam University 'I think the new format and the colour make the book fresher and even more appealing. I love the additions such as the recorded glossary, new icons, tips on language learning, and especially the interactive ebook - they will all benefit the students' language learning and cultural knowledge enormously.' - Marisa Marmo, University of Nottingham 'The new edition in colour looks more attractive and it has updated an already excellent textbook which I have been using for many years.' - Mara Kirkwood, University of EdinburghMore details
