Michael Benedikt was the Director of the Center for American Architecture and Design at the University of Texas at Austin, where he taught from 1975-2025. Michael held the Hal Box Chair in Urbanism, and was an ACSA Distinguished Professor of Architecture. He was a graduate of Yale University and of The University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. His previous books are For an Architecture of Reality, Deconstructing the Kimbell, Cyberspace: First Steps, Shelter: The 2000 Raoul Wallenberg Lecture, God Is the Good We Do, and fourteen volumes of the journal series CENTER: Architecture and Design in America.
