Description
The relationship between soil and climate has been the basis for mapping soils and vegetation on a global scale. Soil formation results from the weathering of rocks, and climatic elements, rainfall, and air temperature determine the nature and speed of chemical reactions in rocks and influence pedogenesis. Thus, the objectives presented in this book were: to determine the influence of climatic availability on the type of weathering and soil formation in Rio Grande do Sul; to determine the relationship between soil and climate in the state of Rio Grande do Sul using soil-climate models; and to highlight the zonal soils of Rio Grande do Sul and indicate their geographical location. Three mathematical models were used to determine the characteristics of weathering, and the relationship between soil and regional climatic conditions was studied using seven edaphoclimatic models.
