When a good person writes a good book, and writes it well, we are entertained whilst receiving great truths. This is such a book. -- William Roache I first saw Stephanie in her screen test. We'd gone through scores of actresses but when we saw her we were immediately impressed. -- Charlton Heston A wonderful mixture of Englishness and Hollywood glitter. -- Alison Steadman My first love is an evening at the theatre, especially if I'm going with a group of friends to see something starring my dear friend Stephanie Beacham. She's one of the finest actresses in the world, especially on the stage. She's also very beautiful. -- Britt Ekland We got on so well, we had a ball. She's lovely and very cuddly, so we cuddled a lot. -- Luke Perry Born with just 40% hearing Stephanie Beacham battled to become one of Britain's best loved actresses... Here she offers up the wisdom that her experiences have given her. Woman's OwnMore details

Much loved actress Stephanie Beacham has had forty years of success in theatre, film and television. After her schooling in England Stephanie travelled to Paris to study mime with Etienne Decreux. Her initial goal was to teach dance movement to deaf children, but she fell into a career in acting and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Beacham's first major film role was in Tam Lyn, co-starring with Ava Gardner and Ian McShane, followed by The Nightcomers with Marlon Brando, directed by Michael Winner. Over the course of her career she has worked with many of Hollywood's most famous actors and played roles in well-loved series such as Tenko, Connie, Bad Girls, Coronation Street, Dynasty and The Colbys. As a single parent, Stephanie Beacham raised two daughters, Phoebe and Chloe. Now a proud grandmother, she campaigns for the deaf, a cause close to her heart, having been born with just 40 per cent hearing.
