Textiles and Technology

Texiles and Technology is one of the titles appearing in the Australian Technology Studies series aimed at upper secondary school students. The first book in this series, Materials, Design and Technology, introduces the student to the design process which has now been incorporated into the national curriculum subject design and technology. This book applies the design process to textiles. It covers the design and problem solving processes associated with textiles and reinforces the more traditional skills of craft/needlework. The authors have maintained links to classroom practice and emphasised safety and techniques as well as the curriculum demands of design, history and the environment. The book is designed to be used in conjunction with Materials, Design and Technology.
