JO BATH worked as an oral historian at Locomotion Museum in Shildon before becoming an oral history archivist at Beamish Museum. She has a PhD in seventeenth-century violent crime and teaches for the Open University. She lives in Newcastle.
RICHARD F. STEVENSON has an MA in History and English from Edinburgh University. He has taught history to secondary school pupils and has been in charge of Heritage Education for Gateshead via its Heritage Centre and libraries.
