Description
Where do babies come from? Well, when a man loves a woman, they kiss and then...But things aren't always so straightforward, as Vanessa Bates and her loving husband found out. With nature refusing to come to the baby party, despite the deafening tick of her biological clock, she had plenty of time to think about family and what it means, exactly. In this memoir, by turns laugh-out-loud funny and beautifully moving, the author reflects on her relationship with her mother and takes us on the journey that saw her finally become a mother herself.
