Description
The product of a series of national seminars and research exercises which were held at 11 higher education institutions, this series addresses issues and priorities highlighted in the Toyne Report, "Environmental Responsibility: An Agenda for Further and Higher Education". The series aims to help develop environmental education policy and practice within higher education, with particular emphasis on the needs and expectations of business and industry. The project sets out guidelines and examples of current practice relating to 11 curriculum areas. Available as a set or individually, it should give academics the opportunity to enhance their curricula and develop in their students the ability to recognise and act upon the environmental implications of their personal and professional decisions. This title covers health and wellbeing, and should be of use to professionals and institutional bodies who develop standards and codes of practice for health care workers (eg GMC, BMA, Nursing Boards, RCN, etc), tutors running courses for health care professionals, and those in industry who provide environmental education related to work activities and the health of their workforce.
