The Year of the Elm

The Year of the Elm is a collection of twelve short stories written from the point of view of a young boy growing up in a Midwestern town. Set in a simpler time, the stories unfold over the course of a year, one story for each month as the boy and seasons change. Touching on moments we all experience growing up, the boy begins to glimpse the world through eyes that no longer belong to a child. Humorous and touching, the stories involve family, friends, adventure, authority, mortality, and the first blush of love. Twelve stories. One little boy. A year in the life.
