Crotalus
Description
A Navajo woman rides into the Capitan Mountains to find the one man who'll go after the outlaws who took her daughter. They call him Crotalus - rattlesnake - because he likes to lay in the sun.
New Mexico Territory. Cheveyo lives alone in a box-canyon hogan with a wolf-like dog and a purple mustang. The cavalry won't help Dyani get her daughter back. The mission school is gone. The outlaws are halfway to Mexico. What Dyani gets when she rides up the creek to find him is a Latin-quoting, mission-school-trained, rattlesnake-carrying lawman riding a horse the Great Spirit sent him. Crotalus is a standalone Western about the rescue mission that follows - and what happens when the man who took everything from Cheveyo turns out to be hiding in plain sight.
