Description
Now in its ninth edition, the industry-leading Broadcast News Writing, Reporting, and Producing provides an essential introduction to broadcast journalism in the modern newsroom.
Across five parts, this book covers every aspect of the "three pillars" of broadcast news - writing, reporting, and producing - in addition to considering news acquisition and the realities of transitioning into professional newsrooms. Drawing on insider perspectives and best-practice examples, the authors meld real-world advice with essential theory, from ethical considerations to key terms and strategies. This ninth edition features expanded coverage of new and social media, Artificial Intelligence, mis- and disinformation, and issues around diversity and inclusion. New sections on social media apps and the software required for producing newscasts are also introduced.
Broadcast News Writing, Reporting, and Producing is key reading for undergraduate students in journalism writing, producing, newsgathering, and multimedia courses.
Accompanying e-resources for students and instructors feature updated video tutorials, PowerPoints, quizzes, and a sample syllabus.
