Description
This is a fully differentiated learning support resource for lower ability pupils. Although the pack is intended as learning support material, it can also be used as a general introduction to the process of designing and making across the whole ability range in Year 7. The pack consists of ten copies of four pupil's booklets supported by a teacher's guide, which contains photocopiable worksheets and practical suggestions on how to use the materials. The pupil's books use simple language, short sentences and vocabulary lists of key words and phrases to help pupils to understand the design strategies involved. There is a book covering each of the following areas: deciding what to design and make, developing and communicating design ideas, planning and making, and evaluating. The teacher's book gives guidance on using the photocopiable worksheets and pupil's books; suggests ways of teaching individuals, small groups and whole classes; includes a National Curriculum matching chart; and has a separate chart which indicates links to other Nuffield Design and Technology materials.
