He grew up in Wiltshire and studied Fine Art at U.W.E, Bristol, before starting his career in illustration in 2004 with a series of board book titles for Campbell Books. Stephen is a keen photographer and painter, and also loves travelling, astronomy and wildlife. He lives and works in Andover with his partner and pet insects.
