Matt Ellis never wanted to be a hero. He was just a boy who feared the dark, yet he made it his mission to return home to his sister every night.

Everything changes when he witnesses a mysterious assassin attacking his fellow classmate, and as the only person nearby, he takes it upon himself to intervene. After the culprit slips away, Matt and his friend, Trevor, realize their lives are at risk.

As the assassin targets Trevor and his father, Matt has no choice but to defend himself and those he cares about. Vigilantism was never his calling, and he was never a hero, but in a life-and-death situation, Matt must decide who he needs to be, and what risks he must take to save those around him.
