"Functioning in Business" is for pre-intermediate students who are preparing to use English in a business context. The emphasis is on listening and speaking and the focus is on key functional language - eg - offering, requesting, accepting and disagreeing. It aims to provide an overview of typical business situations such as meetings, discussions, negotiations, social situations, survival skills such as checking into a hotel or using the telephone. The complete course consists of a students' book, teacher's book, audio cassette, NTSC video and a PAL video. As the teacher's guide, this provides step-by-step procedures for using the students' book with either the video or cassette, together with sugestions on how to exploit the medium of video to the full.
