From September 2006, university fees will be much higher and students can expect to pay up GBP 3,000 per year. While most universities will be charging the same (much higher) fees, the pricing battleground will be in the awards and bursaries they offer and the rents they charge. The likelihood is, though, that students will enter the world of work with even greater debt, although the fees will now be paid once they are in work, rather than upfront.
