Babafemi Raphael Babaniyi is a distinguished researcher and academic in Environmental Chemistry. He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Caritas University, Enugu (2008), and earned both his M.Tech. (2021) and Ph.D. (2025) in Environmental Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. His research expertise spans Environmental and Green Chemistry, Phytoremediation, Bioremediation, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Biodegradable Plastics. With over 50 publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, he has made significant contributions to the global scientific community. Babafemi currently serves as an Assistant Chief Research Officer at the National Biotechnology Development Agency, where he leads research initiatives advancing biotechnology and environmental sustainability. His work reflects a strong commitment to using science to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development and environmental health.
Sesan Abiodun Aransiola holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria, where he also earned his B.Tech. (2009) and M.Tech. (2014) degrees. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Abuja, Nigeria. His research centers on innovative strategies for soil and water remediation, with a particular focus on vermitechnology, phytoremediation, and microbial biotechnology. Aransiola has extensively explored the application of vermicasts and biofertilizers such as vinasse to support soil recovery from heavy metal and plastic pollution. His expertise spans environmental health, marine resources, and sustainable waste management. An award-winning scientist, he has authored over 90 scholarly publications, including high-impact journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. He has also co-edited several internationally recognized scientific volumes with publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, and CRC Press, covering topics including microbial biotechnology, soil microbiomes, marine bioprospecting, phytoremediation, and food safety. Previously, he served as an Assistant Chief Scientific Officer at the National Biotechnology Development Agency. Beyond academia, Aransiola actively contributes to community service and sustainability advocacy. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology and the American Society for Microbiology.
Ebunoluwa Elizabeth Babaniyi is a dedicated educator with a strong academic background in the biological sciences. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed) in Biology from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, an affiliate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, in 2014. She previously obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Biology and Geography from the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, in 2009. Professionally registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) since 2019, Ebunoluwa has gained substantial teaching experience. Her commitment to academic growth and knowledge advancement is reflected in her published research manuscripts within her field of expertise.
Femi Johnson Afolabi is a Ph.D (2023) and M.Tech (2015) holder in Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He started his training as a Microbiologist from Ambrose Alii University, Ekpoma, where he obtained BS.c (Microbiology) in 2001. He is currently a Lecturer with Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Nigeria. His research interest includes, but not limited to, the evaluation of different lignocellulosic wastes in mushroom cultivation, development of cost-effective protocols for mushroom cultivation, application of mushrooms in the supplementation of nutritionally deficient indigenous foods, utilisation of legumes to supplement indigenous fermented cereal foods, microbial and nutritional evaluation of fermented foods, microbial safety evaluation of hawked foods etc. He has authored more than 25 scholarly publications, including high-impact journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. He has trained a number of people in mushroom cultivation technology, and consults for many big and thriving mushroom farms. He is a versed biotechnologist, having worked and rose to the position of an Assistant Director at National Biotechnology Development Agency. Over the years, he has affected the town with his gown by participating or leading organisations contributing to the educational development of the youths of his community and place of abode. He is also involved in advocacy aimed at helping the masses recognise the importance of good nutrition. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology and the Mycology Society of Nigeria.
