Sergi is an Instructor at Harvard University, where he is also a Faculty Affiliate at the Harvard Center for International Development and a Full Professor of Political Economy at the University of Messina, Italy. He is co-Director of the Lab for Entrepreneurship and Development (LEAD), a research lab based in Cambridge, USA, that aims to generate and share knowledge about entrepreneurship, development, and sustainability.
