Description
The Russo-Chechen conflict is one of the most intractable intergroup conflicts in the world. This book analyzes the root causes of it and discusses the consequences of the war and violence in Chechnya. It also investigates the opportunity to improve the conflict situation in Chechnya, and offers a systematic method of its resolution. One of the key arguments of this study is that violence is not a solution to this conflict. The book suggests that to transform the Russo-Chechen predicament all segments of the population should be involved in the peacebuilding processes. Therefore, adopting a comprehensive conflict resolution framework that includes peace education, forgiveness, storytelling, negotiating for mutual gains, interfaith dialogue, and interactive problem-solving workshops would be more successful in transforming this conflict into a new and more favourable stage.
