David Lewis is an average guy with scant regard for anyone. Deep within his mind lies an uncertain history and an emerging ability that propels him into a world with which he is uncomfortably, yet inexplicably familiar....

Hopefield. A town veiled in fear, where increasingly frequent and violent street robberies have the local police at a loss and the elderly, more vulnerable residents firmly in the sights of a seemingly unidentifiable assailant.

Convinced of his guilt by visions of crimes he believes he has committed, David hands himself in to the newly formed robbery squad. However, instead of ending the chaos which has overtaken his mind, his actions set in motion a chain of events which brand him a cop-killer and threaten to end the life of his lost, yet still beloved, Lucy.

Detective Sergeant Backhouse is the soon-to-retire, yet still belligerent, thorn in the side of Hopefield's Command Team. Initially tasked with bringing the rising crime trend to a rapid close, he instead finds himself leading a manhunt for the unlikeliest of offenders and a search for a missing colleague, feared dead after a mistake for which he feels responsible.

David is pursued by Backhouse's team of detectives but they have no idea of the twisted reality of his origins. Alone, and guided only by the clues to Lucy's demise hidden within his dreams, he must race to change a foreseen history yet to occur.
