This is an excellent introduction to the new apprenticeships for both existing teachers and those who are looking to move into teaching. It provides an overview of the qualifications available and walks the reader through learning and teaching, mentoring apprentices and assessment. The authors have included useful activities and scenarios for the reader to work through. Overall an excellent book.Dr Lynn Senior
I can thoroughly recommend this highly current, practical guide for learning mentors, coaches, staff development managers, and teacher educators wanting to learn more about how to support their apprentices. It is written by two highly experienced teacher educators who have very effectively woven together the history, theory and practice of high quality mentoring into five highly accessible and concise chapters.... As someone who is trying to plan how my ITE partnership manages and supports colleges to be effective training providers for the new apprenticeships in education and training, this is my go-to reference book.
