Laser Damage Measurements

This book aims to provide a basis for test procedures and results for those involved in specification, manufacturing, and measurement of optical components. This book discusses topics such as what can be expected in terms of the repeatability of a measurement, the weakest site on an optic and its distribution, how the distribution is affected by the finite size of the optic, how measurement techniques affect accuracy, uncertainty, and repeatability of a threshold measurement, how to assess the probability of damage as a function of fluence, how to develop the means of "derating" damage performance to assure system performance, and under what conditions is damage threshold a useful concept.
