Arn Gunther, a lowly homesteader, was surprised one evening by a dying man calling at his farm and bearing in his arms a 3-year-old boy. No one knew who the stranger was and when he was secretly buried the Gunthers adopted the boy whom the stranger, in his dying breath, had named as Davey.
