Description
The papers in this volume originate from two meetings held at different times but which share a joint focus on slow adjustment processes governing the change of urban and internodal network infrastructure. The first meeting was organised by IIASA's Regional Issues Project and the second by CERUM (Centre for Regional Science at Umea University) in collaboration with the Departments of Economics and Geography at the same university. During the preparation of this volume the contributions from the first meeting have been elaborated and revised and can now be regarded as mature papers embracing the frontiers of spatial and economic dynamics. The two meetings are also closely connected by the continuing collaborative efforts between researchers in an international network.
