I am a celiac and once my son was also diagnosed celiac, I did not want him to lose those tastes of home. I have adapted my Grandma's, Mom's, Sister's, Friends and Mother-in-law's old family recipes to be 'gluten free style'. I have enjoyed revamping and changing old and new recipes to make the baked goods have excellent texture and taste. The recipes in my books have ingredients that are easy to find in local stores. Trust me, I have had many failures along the way! I have spent a lot of time researching, taking classes, reading books and testing a lot of processes. My dietary technology background has helped me be constantly thinking about where I can add nutrients and fiber whenever possible. Family gatherings seem to all start in the kitchen, whether it is a weeknight supper, Saturday morning waffles, or decorating Christmas cookies together.
