Gerald Anderson was a consultant physician at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport from 1969-1996. This autobiography is a humorous memoir of training at a time when working conditions for junior doctors were appalling. When he began practice as a consultant, medical science was rapidly changing. This is a fascinating account of the way practice changed since he entered medical school in 1955. It is a frank story of what sometimes went wrong and of the occasional success.
