Vishy Anand first took the chess world by storm as a young teenager who became famous for beating very strong players with a phenomenal speed of thought and lightning quick moves. As his play matured he quickly established himself as one of the world's elite players, winning numerous major competitions. He was the official World Championship challenger in both 1995 and 1997, while in 2000 he delighted his fans by winning the FIDE World Championship. Since then he has continued to excel and few, if any, can match his tournament performances over recent years. Vishy Anand has written this book in collaboration with Devangshu Datta, a journalist from New Delhi who has a passion for chess and has closely followed Anand's continued progress over the years.
