Description
This volume is a study guide for the athletic training student that will aid in the practical portion of the NATABOC certification exam. It will also serve as a means to mastering entry-level clinical proficiencies. The majority of clinical proficiencies included in this book are referenced from the 1999 NATA Athletic Training Educational Competencies for the Health Care of the Physically Active. The student will be able to learn and practice these clinical competencies with the breakdown of needed psychomotor skills into easy-to-follow checklists. The clinical educator will also benefit from this reference as a way to document when clinical proficiencies have been taught, practiced, evaluated and mastered by the student. Clinical education documentation is a commonly weak programme area and is the major focus to this manual. A rating scale makes it easy to see when and where a clinical skill has met the minimum standard set by an individual programme. Another benefit is the inclusion of practical exams that can be used by the student for studying or by the clinical educator for testing and assessment.
