Hybrids are real. Part human, part animal creatures with incredible abilities and raging power. After the near destruction of humanity in the hybrid war, society needs a way to keep hybrids in check. Thus, Champion was created. A blood sport pitting two hybrids against each other in a fight to the death, and one hybrid quickly rises in the ranks of top contenders. Pylus. Life for Pylus means three things. Fight, win, repeat. Simple and easy for someone of his skill and drive. Being the top contender in Champion, a goal worthy of one like him. Until he meets Jefferson Rye. The owner of the biggest genetic modification company in the world and a man in need of a favor. He needs Pylus to be the personal bodyguard for his daughter. Pylus soon finds guarding Jefferson Rye's daughter to be more than he bargained for. She's spoiled and stubborn and always throws a fit when she doesn't get her way. Oh, and she's being hunted by assassins. After a series of events separates Pylus and his new charge from her father, he must find his way through an unknown wilderness and return to their group, all the while avoiding death by assassins and dealing with the attitude of a spoiled rich girl.
