Description
Part of the "Reading 2000" series, this is designed to be a forward-looking reading programme and is a wide-ranging and practical package of materials designed to meet the language development needs of the primary, middle and lower secondary age group. The programme comprises a selection of listening, talking, reading and writing activities which aim to give a base for further study. The series links reading skills with environmental studies as part of a wider language programme. Although "Reading 2000" is a modular programmme, schools do not need to use the whole of the scheme to derive benefit from these readers which can be used on their own. Catherine Allan is a primary headteacher in Strathclyde and is co-author with James Love of "Scope for reading" and "Resource readers" (Holmes McDougall). James Love is an ex-primary head and college lecturer. Helen McLullich is author of "Wordpower" (Oliver and Boyd). The main supporting titles are the "Reading 2000" core readers.
