Description
This work on looking at teeth is part of the "Reading 2000" series, which is designed to be a forward-looking reading programme for juniors. It is a wide-ranging and practical package of materials designed to meet the language development needs of the 7-11+ age group. The programme comprises a selection of listening, talking, reading and writing activities which aim to give a base for further study. The series offers topic teaders which link reading skills with environmental studies as part of a wider language programme. Although "Reading 2000" is a modular programmme, schools do not need to use the whole of the scheme to derive benefit from these topic readers as they can be used on their own. This volume looks at teeth, particularly at the different types of teeth, the role of the dentist and how to look after them. Catherine Allan is a primary headteacher in Strathclyde and is co-author with James Love of "Scope for reading" and "Resource readers" (Holmes McDougall). James Love is an ex-primary head and college lecturer. Helen McLullich is author of "Wordpower" (Oliver and Boyd). The main supporting titles are the "Reading 2000" Core Readers.
