Description
The private-eye business was slow, so Anthony Rome went skin diving. But instead of treasure he found a young blonde's body-nude, her feet embedded in a block of cement. She had last been seen at a party thrown by high society beauty Gretchen Forrest, whose friends include "retired" kingpin mobster Al Mungo. When Tony begins asking questions, the answers come in fists, bullets and murder.

MARVIN H. ALBERT was the author of more than a hundred books, from westerns, mysteries, and spy novels, to works of history, including "The Long White Road," a biography of the Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton. Revered in France as a master of detective fiction, he wrote under many pseudonyms, including Nick Quarry, Al Conroy, Ian McAllister, and Mike Barone. Ten of his books were adapted into feature films, including two of the Tony Rome novels.
