Mathematics Through Art and Design

"Mathematics through Art and Design" is a book for primary and lower secondary school teachers showing ways in which certain creative areas of mathematics can be taught, learned and enjoyed, through activities in art and design. This resource book provides teachers with over 40 activities tested in schools and a grid which divides the activities into mathematical topic areas, showing those suitable for different age-bands, abilities and interests. Guidance is also offered for teachers, along with suggested lines of questioning, variations and extensions showing how children can be encouraged to investigate problems linked with the basic activity, and clear diagrams and colour photographs to show what the final product can look like.
