Learning About AIDS

This booklet provides training guidance and exercises for all nurses, community nurses and health workers, and GPs who need an understanding of AIDS. The exercises emphasize participatory styles of health education - given that health education is the single most important factor in controlling the spread of HIV infection, it is important to consider which style of training is most effective. The exercises cover current scientific and medical information, sexuality, safer sex and drug use, issues such as prejudice, confidentiality and policy making. The booklet offers practical help too by teaching how to develop "Action Plans" to apply the theory to practice.
