READ ON! is a major Creative Europe funded project across six European countries working in five languages. It aims to encourage young people aged 12 to 19 to engage with reading and creative writing. Writing West Midlands is the UK partner. Work taking place in the West Midlands includes creative writing workshops, a young presenters scheme as part of the Birmingham Literature Festival and training sessions on vlogging and podcasting. The After Summer anthology has been produced as part of READ ON! Riya Chowdhury is an illustrator based in the West Midlands who likes to create fun works of art by trying new methods. She likes to use a lot of colours but also likes to work in black and white.
