Mugged and his identity stolen, Jean realizes that he'd already lost himself long ago. This sudden act of violence, and the chance companionship of a lost dog, sends Jean careening out into the vibrant streets of New York City to find answers. Along the way, Jean's search becomes entangled with the disappearance of a young undocumented immigrant. Jean must confront the ways that we slowly isolate from one another and discover that forging new connections counteracts stagnation. But his quest catches the eye of an unseen foe, and Jean must evade a nefarious web or experience firsthand the dangers of self-discovery.
