The Naulahka: A Story of East and West is a 1892 novel by Rudyard Kipling, originally serialized in The Century Magazine from November 1891 to July 1892 in collaboration with Wolcott Balestier. The book is set in the fictional state of "Rahore", believed to be based on Rajputana.
Joseph Rudyard Kipling was an English journalist, short-story writer, poet, and novelist. He was born in India, which inspired much of his work. Kipling's works of fiction include The Jungle Book, Kim, and many short stories, including "The Man Who Would Be King".
