Teen Doreen Ngemera was born and raised in the busy City of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania by her pharmacist dad and medical doctor mum alongside her two siblings. She spent her childhood reading and reviewing all sorts of diaries and novels. By the age of 10 she had already read more than 500 fiction and non-fiction books. While reading the books the passion and fire of writing emerged in her heart. As a result, Doreen participated and won more than 10 medals related to creative writing and debating in a globally recognized competition - the World
Scholar's Cup®. She remains one of the very few teen writers in the African continent. Of course, she considers herself born to inspire.
