When Peg realizes Maggie is not coming back - and why - the only clue to her whereabouts is the missing journal Peg wrote when she ran away as a teen and ended up in Harrisburg. But by then, Maggie's been in the wrong place at the wrong time and warned to move on. . .

Friday, May 26, 2000: Maggie leaves; Peg thinks she's going camping with a friend and will be home Monday.
Saturday and Sunday: Maggie enters a new life in another state, in dicey circumstances and reads a journal Peg wrote when she also ran away as a teen; Peg deals with other issues at home - problems with her new marriage and issues with Lizzie, Maggie's younger sister.
Remaining chapters: By the time Peg realizes Maggie is not coming home - and why - Maggie is in danger far away. The tension mounts as Peg and Lizzie go looking for her themselves, Peg's missing journal their only clue.
