The story takes its bearings from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria where belief in the afterlife and reincarnation is taken for granted. The principal characters, a happily married Ziboere and a single Layefa 'accidentally' meet at a function as mere strangers but quickly realize through a time travel like sequence of events that they were actually soul mates linking up again after hundreds of years-for a definite purpose.
Educated in the United States of America, Gesiere Brisibe-Dorgu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Minnesota and a Master of arts degree in Public Administration from Mankato State University, Minnesota. She is the founder and president of KEMSESE, Center for Young People in Need, a non-profit organization. Gesiere Brisibe-Dorgu is a self-taught visual artist.
