This update provides an annual summary of important developments in environmental law, and will combine two complementary formats. The first half of the will examine key federal environmental statutes, such as the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, etc. In this first section each key statute will be addressed in terms of: (1) regulatory developments, such as legislation, regulations or policy statements from the government and 2) enforcement issues, such as fines and prosecutions by the government and civil actions by private parties. The second half will consist of feature chapters which will cover "hot" topics and provide in-depth discussion and analysis of these topics. This update will serve as a desk reference for attorneys and nonattorneys who confront environmental issues.
