There is a rapid increase in world population with a decrease in cereal production in developing countries, creating competition between man and animals for grains such as maize,sorghum and wheat which are major sources of energy for both man and livestock and had resulted in continuous fluctuations in the prices of these conventional feed ingredients. This growing fluctuation in feed cost and price of poultry meat as a result of the rising cost of conventional feed ingredients has therefore led to the search for alternative sources of feed ingredients particularly those energy and protein origin.
