Vitaly Naumkin, Ph.D. in History (1972), is Professor of Moscow State University (in 2003 - University of California, Berkeley), Director of the Centre for Arab Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies, and Editor-in-Chief of Vostok-Oriens (Russian Academy of Sciences).
