An Independent Review of an earlier edition: The entire book is a masterpiece of scientific writing. There is not a superfluous sentence and the authors know exactly where they are going. It is certain that this volume will be able to hold its own amongst more conventional texts in classical mechanics, as a scholarly and economic exposition of the subjects.Science Progress
