Volume 3 of the Yearbook has been enlarged to take account of developments made at the UN Conference on Environment and Development, Rio de Janeiro, 1992: seven major articles by leading environmental lawyers and other experts assess development of the law, global environmental management, biodiversity, human rights, intergenerational responsibility, law making techniques, enforcement of the Montreal Protocol, and financing global environmental protection. The exhaustive Year-in-Review section's 120<li class=copymedium> contributors report on and assess the significant legal developments of 1992 over a variety of subjects, countries, regions, tribunals and organizations. The literature published in 1992 is treated similarly, and the 1992 Documents section reproduces some dozen or so important international instruments, with some further 22 documents available on the free diskette accompanying the Volume, including material from the Earth Summit at Rio de Janeiro. Taken together with Volumes 1 (1990) and 2 (1991), Volume 3 offers to lawyers, policy makers, researchers, the broad spectrum of advisers and participants in environmental matters, a comprehensive, substantial and current reference tool.
