This publication provides information for the authorities, solicitors and many others whose work brings them into contact with local authorities. Full details of all the new authorities are given, together with cross referencing to enable the user to identify which new authorities have been disbanded. Website addresses of many of the authorities are shown, as are e-mail addresses for certain departments or officers. Individual telephone and fax numbers for some of the departments are also shown beneath the name of the head of department. A gazetteer lists alphabetically the names of parish, town and villages throughout the United Kingdom, identifying the authority into which immediately falls, in whole or in part. This section includes nearly 20,000 entries.
