The Naggars, a family of Egyptians, have been living in Lebanon for nearly a decade, happily breezing through their lives. From the family's cool mom obsessed with her gay best friend, the bookselling father, and three teenagers infatuated with the cinema, the family is content and comfortable, more influenced by Western culture than by the local flavors. That is, until the tensions between the many religious groups of Beirut reach a boiling point in April 1975 and Lebanon falls into civil war.
Now, the Naggars must face the reality of a war they didn't choose, but which will catch up to them regardless.
