He is a specialist in physical oceanography, regional climate change, satellite remote sensing, environmental sciences and water resources. He is Editor-in-Chief of "The Handbook of Environmental Chemistry" and "Springer Water" book editions in Springer Publishing House (Germany), member of the editorial board of the Journal of Marine Systems "(Netherlands)," International Water Technology Journal "(Egypt), Editor-in-Chief of the "Journal of Oceanological Research" (Russia) and a member of the editorial board of several Russian and international journals.
